Kelly first spotted Truly Wiley, better known to his friends as Wiley, in Bruce Davidson’s field at Chesterland Farm as a weanling while training there in 2007. She admired how cute he was and took his photo. A few years later, Kelly returned to Pennsylvania to have a look at Bruce’s talented young horses and saw that very same precious bay gelding, but this time it was his talent and athleticism that caught her eye. Wiley is a barn favorite with his great personality. This talented horse loves life to the fullest, and Kelly has enjoyed watching him mature and develop into a top-notch horse. In 2013 Wiley competed at Preliminary level successfully and cruised around his first CCI1*. In 2014 Wiley moved up to Intermediate and ran an impressive round at the Fair Hill CCI2*, finishing in the top 20. Wiley has been successfully competing at the CIC3* level during 2015. In 2016, Wiley placed 7th in the CIC3* at Fair Hill International. Returning to Fair Hill International in October, Wiley successfully completed the CCI3*.
In February, Kelly and Wiley began their 2017 season with a 9th place finish at the Ocala Winter I HT, followed by an 8th place finish in the Intermediate at Rocking Horse Winter II. Next, Kelly and Wiley went on to finish in 6th place in the Advanced at Red Hills International. In April, Kelly piloted Wiley around his first Four-Star level competition, where he and Kelly completed Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event. In September, Kelly and Wiley finished 5th in the Intermediate at Seneca Valley Horse Trials.
They pair started their 2018 season off with a 5th place finish in the Advanced at Red Hills and 26th at the Carolina International CIC3*. In April, Kelly and Wiley returned to Kentucky and blazed around the cross-country course to move from 41st to 21st after cross-country and finished 16th in their second CCI4*!
